Footnote Friend is a New Zealand–based small business offering curated bookish bundles, merchandise, and custom-annotated books. Throughout these Terms, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Footnote Friend.

By using this site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or have permission from a legal guardian to shop with us.

2. Our Products

We do our best to display accurate descriptions, photos, and details for every item. However, colours, packaging, or small details may vary slightly due to lighting, printing, or supplier variations.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue products at any time.

3. Custom Annotated Books

Custom annotated books are made specifically for you and require significant time, labour, and creative work.
These items are non-refundable, non-returnable, and cannot be cancelled once work has begun.

Please ensure all information you provide (titles, themes, notes, preferences) is correct before submitting your order.

4. Pricing & Availability

All prices are listed in NZD unless otherwise stated.

We reserve the right to change prices, update stock levels, or correct errors at any time. If a pricing or stock error occurs after checkout, we may cancel or adjust the order — and will contact you immediately to resolve it fairly.

5. Payment

Payment must be completed at checkout through the available payment options on our website. Orders are not confirmed until payment has been processed.

If fraudulent or suspicious activity is detected, we reserve the right to cancel an order.

6. Shipping & Delivery

Shipping times vary depending on your location. Once your order leaves our hands, delays caused by couriers, customs, or international carriers are outside our control.

Customers are responsible for entering a correct shipping address. If a parcel is returned to us due to an incorrect address, additional postage fees may apply to resend it.

7. Refunds & Returns

Our Refund Policy applies to all purchases and forms part of these Terms.

Eligible for Refund/Return:

  • Items damaged in transit

  • Manufacturing faults

  • Incorrect items received

Contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos.

Not Eligible for Refund:

  • Custom annotated books

  • Change of mind

Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including product descriptions, branding, images, designs, annotated content, graphics, and promotional material — is the property of Footnote Friend and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without permission.

We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any celebrities, publishers, authors, or brands referenced in our themed products. All themes are inspired creations only.

9. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use the site or its content:

  • For unlawful purposes

  • To attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems

  • To resell our products as your own

  • To misuse or misrepresent our custom work

If misuse is suspected, we reserve the right to refuse service.

10. Order Cancellations

We may cancel orders if:

For cancellations initiated by us, you will be refunded in full.

  • Delays caused by couriers

  • Loss or theft after delivery

  • Damage caused by misuse

  • Issues arising from incorrect information supplied by the customer
